Methods

This research has taken the form of a digital archive website. I have familiarized myself with the history of women in higher education, particularly in the early 1900s, in order to contextualize Igler’s scrapbook. I have studied the contents of her scrapbook, both digitally and in-person in the Belmont archive, and I have studied course catalogues from the years which Igler attended, in order to better understand the curriculum which was available to her. I have studied documentation of certain social clubs and recreational groups that Igler was a part of, such as the A.K. Club, to better understand the impact which these had on her career trajectory. My method was straightforward: taking notes on my findings in Igler’s scrapbook, the 1927-1928 course catalogue, and Milestones yearbook.
